TNET is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager (L3) to lead backend and frontend teams, drive engineering excellence, and align technical execution with business strategy. The role is based in Tbilisi, Nutsubidze 129a, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 19:00. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering teams to improve delivery efficiency and ensure high-quality software development across backend and frontend systems, playing a key role in shaping technical direction and engineering culture. Your Impact: - Lead and develop high-performing backend and frontend teams. - Improve product quality, delivery speed, and engineering efficiency. - Drive technical strategy, architecture decisions, and align execution with business goals and KPIs. - Build a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture. - Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and high-performance. - Optimize processes to improve operational efficiency and developer productivity. - Manage engineering KPIs, including system reliability, quality metrics, and delivery predictability. Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership: - Define and implement engineering strategies for backend and frontend. - Lead technology selection and architecture decisions. - Establish quality guidelines, coding standards, and best practices. - Ensure security, scalability, and system performance while conducting code reviews and providing mentorship. - Stay current with engineering tools and trends to reduce technical debt and drive long-term improvements. - Balance feature delivery with platform stability and scalability. Team Management: - Recruit, onboard, and develop engineering talent with clear performance standards and goals. - Provide coaching, career development support, and feedback. - Manage resource planning, workload, and team capacity. - Facilitate collaboration between frontend and backend teams. - Foster a feedback-driven, psychologically safe culture emphasizing ownership and accountability. - Mentor future technical leaders and senior engineers. Product and Delivery: - Own the execution and planning of engineering delivery. - Partner with Product, Design, QA, and business stakeholders on roadmaps and priorities. - Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software and optimize engineering workflows. - Participate in cross-functional collaboration and Agile ceremonies. - Communicate delivery risks and technical tradeoffs to stakeholders. Operational Excellence: - Lead postmortem processes and incident response. - Establish operational best practices for alerting and monitoring. - Reduce recurring engineering issues and operational toil. - Maintain operational playbooks and technical documentation. - Improve operational maturity and delivery predictability. Requirements: - 5+ years of experience in engineering or web development roles. - Strong experience in Agile environments and hands-on experience with CI/CD processes. - Deep understanding of architecture, performance optimization, and code quality. - Required: Strong senior-level backend expertise and solid working knowledge of frontend development. - Experience leading or mentoring engineers is a strong advantage. - Strong skills in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management. - Experience optimizing delivery workflows and engineering processes. Technical Skills: Backend: Advanced PHP, Laravel (2+ years), OOP, SOLID principles, MySQL, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, Redis, ElasticSearch (plus), database design/optimization, security best practices, testing (unit, integration, end-to-end), and Git. Frontend: JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, React.js, Next.js (required), Vue or Angular (plus), Tailwind CSS, REST API integration, responsive web development, Figma design-to-code workflow, and SEO/performance optimization. Education: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (optional). - Strong understanding of the SDLC.
